GFWC of CENTRAL OREGON
GFWC-Central Oregon was founded in 2003 by long time GFWC Member, Joann Wheeler. The Club has been an asset to the Redmond, Oregon area. We are a member of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce and coordinate closely with local non-profits. We can be reached through our Web site: www.gfwccentralor.org
A sample of our club projects:
“Chair-ity for Children,” an auction of chairs painted by local artists and Club members. The funds raised are used to sponsor a “Sparrow” who is a local child with severe medical issues.
Our “teen outreach” program to benefit Redmond High School underprivileged students is held in December. Club members and Community Businesses supply gift cards for hair cuts, food and also hygiene supplies, clothing and a few “sweets” to teenagers to brighten the holidays.
Maintenance of a flower garden in front of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce office
is also one of our ongoing projects.
Domestic Violence education has been an important focus for the group. We support the Saving Grace organization with funds and supplies.
Our affiliated Juniorette Club supports local food projects like “peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the hungry.” They also do Senior outreach programs and participate in the “Pinwheel For Prevention” garden.
And we like to have fun! Join us!
